Chidoka Osita, former aviation minister in the Goodluck Jonathan government, has left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Chidoka announced his resignation during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday night.
He revealed that he had written a letter to the district chief of Anambra State earlier today informing him of his decision to resign from the PDP and pursue political activities for the time being.
Chidoka, who was also a Corps Marshal in the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has dedicated his non-profit organization, the Athena Center, to join forces with other Nigerians interested in reforming Nigeria’s political system. He said he would leave politics for the same reason. .
“Early today, I sent a letter to my ward in Anambra State formally resigning from the PDP. I will be leaving the PDP and stepping away from politics for a while to focus on the Athena Centre,” Chidoka said.
“I look forward to working with other Nigerians who want to introduce evidence-based governance and reform our political institutions to support it. Therefore, as of today, I am joining the Peoples Democratic Party He is no longer a member of Congress.”
