The Imo State government has dismissed recent reports from some quarters that a Supreme Court judge has apologized to Imo residents over a five-year-old judgment in favor of the election of Governor Hope Uzodinma.
The government said this was a childish, ridiculous and irresponsible attempt to clutter Uzodimma’s profile through fake news.
Declan Emelumba, Secretary for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, said in a statement that those who continue to attach importance to the Supreme Court’s judgment were not willing to accept defeat even when Mr Uzodimma suffered a landslide defeat in last year’s governorship election. .
Mr. Emelumba regretted that the purveyors of fake news do not seem to be tired of “many times failing miserably in their diabolical mission to destroy the governor politically.”
However, he promised to match them at their game so as not to confuse the people, especially the Imo people, about the nature of the issue.
“We will continue to counter them to ensure that they do not get away with a series of lies and propaganda aimed at tarnishing the image of the governor, no matter how unbelievably ridiculous,” the chief declared. .
Emelumba said she hastily pretended to be a so-called Supreme Court judge and apologized, blaming her actions on an eye infection, but her name was not revealed and the location and event of her remarks were not disclosed. It is said that it was not done.
He said, “As the opposition continues to deny, they have no idea that after the Supreme Court judgment, the PDP asked for a reconsideration and the learned judge threw the book at them at a hefty price. There wasn’t,” he said. They also had the opportunity to test their popularity in another election, but Uzodimma won support in all 27 local governments in the state. Isn’t it time to hide your face in shame?”
He accused social media of helping rebels publish unsubstantiated material, especially instant material that seeks to defame the integrity of Supreme Court justices.
