The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Rivers State Governor Siminalai Hubara of failing to abide by a court ruling regarding the state house.
The Public Relations Secretary of the APC Rivers State chapter, Mr. Chibike Ikenga, said the presentation and subsequent signing of the state’s 2024 budget bill to the House of Representatives led by Victor Oko Jumbo is contrary to the court’s ruling on the matter. .
In an interview with News Central on Sunday, Mr. Ikenga said Governor Nunohara has started on the path to illegal activities.
“I am speaking on behalf of the River States All Progressives Congress and will continue to speak.Most if not all of the actions of the River State Government are illegal and illegal. Furthermore, this government has a reputation for disobeying court orders and for working against the established principles of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; Legislators and judiciary in Rivers State, whether or not it was created by the Constitution.
“Therefore, it is a well-known fact that we have discussed carefully on all platforms that the Rivers State government, led by Governor Simu Hubala, continues on its illegal path, creating tension and pushing back development. , we continue to deepen our differences,’ and do not promote integration into our state,” he said.
On the 2025 budget, Mr Ikenga, the Rivers APC spokesperson, said Governor Hubala had failed to abide by the judgments of the High Court and the Court of Appeal that recognized the Martins Amaufure-led House of Representatives.
“These are the facts that Justice Omosho presented to a gathering of friends around January, and the Court of Appeal had at different times ordered the Rivers State government, led by Governor Simu Hubala, to submit the 2025 budget to the House of Representatives. “I remember that,” the only members of Parliament led by the Rt Hon. Mr. Martins Amaufule and the House of Representatives, the only recognized Rivers state, the government has not followed this position from the High Court to the Court of Appeal and we believe that the government will not abide by the judgment of the Supreme Court either. ” he added.
