Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum, Senator Bala Mohammed, has said that Rivers State Governor Siminarayi Fubala remains a member of the PDP despite the fact that other political parties constitute the elected bodies at the local government level. said he is a member of the Diet.
Recall that the Action People’s Party (APP) won Saturday’s municipal elections, securing 22 of the 23 chairperson positions, while the Action Alliance candidate won one seat.
APP also won 314 out of 319 parliamentary seats in the state’s 23 local councils.
Mr. Hubala was then sworn in as the newly elected council presidents of the state’s 23 local governments on Sunday.
Mr. Bala, in a statement issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, maintained that Mr. Hubala has established himself as the governor of Nigeria and the pride of other governors.
Muhammad said Hubala demonstrated his democratic instincts by carefully developing strategies to achieve democratic governance at the local government level, regardless of party loyalties or considerations.
The chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum has asserted that Rivers State is a PDP state even though the recently sworn in local government chairpersons and members belong to different political parties.
he said: “Of course, he is still with us. He is still a PDP man and I, on behalf of the governor, express solidarity with the very active democratic instincts that he has cultivated. This is a new manifestation in the Nigerian political arena, where he has to step up and develop a strategy that allows for governance regardless of party loyalty or party considerations. I didn’t.
“For certain reasons, he did not have a party structure in the state, so he had to go out to ensure that other political parties were allowed to participate so that there was no vacuum in the political space. .
“And I think this is a very auspicious thing, I think it’s a very creative thing to do, and I’m very proud of him. And I said, ‘Yes, we lost as a party. That’s why I want to get away from this.”
“Once again, he established himself as a governor and became the pride of all governors in Nigeria.”
