Israeli forces have destroyed another Hezbollah tunnel discovered in Lebanon. The tunnels were used by elite forces to prepare for the invasion of the Jewish state.
Troops from the Israel Defense Forces’ Hiram Brigade and the Air Force’s Shardag Force discovered the tunnel “in the heart of a civilian area” in southern Lebanon, officials said.
According to the IDF, the entrance to the tunnel system was inside a civilian residence that also served as a Hezbollah weapons warehouse.

As with other large tunnels in southern Lebanon, the Israel Defense Forces said terrorists were building stockpiles in the underground system in preparation for a planned invasion of Israel.
The IDF proceeded to destroy the tunnel with a massive explosion, destroying five buildings connected to the underground weapons depot.
In addition to clearing the tunnels, the Israel Defense Forces, in recent operations in Lebanon, have also removed hotels and other buildings that house Hezbollah missile launchers that have been used to attack Galilee and other northern Israeli towns in recent months. The operation came a week after the Israel Defense Forces discovered another tunnel in southern Lebanon in preparation for Hezbollah’s alleged “Conquest of Galilee” operation.
Inside the tunnel, IDF soldiers found helicopter missiles, mortar shells, files, ammunition, motorcycles, and enough food and supplies to last Hezbollah’s Radwan unit for several days.
IDF spokesman Maj. Gen. Daniel Hagari, who inspected the tunnel, said the terrorists would have used weapons and motorcycles to attack Kiryat Shmona and other northern villages of the Jewish state.
The existence of a tunnel so close to the border is, among other things, a clear violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, which ended the Israel-Lebanon War in 2006 and established a buffer zone along the border prohibiting IDF and Hezbollah activities. It is. .
