The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Debo Ologunagba, has criticized the party over reports announcing the suspension of party activities.
Naija News reports this as the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) announced that Ologunagba and the party’s National Legal Adviser, Kamaludeen Ajibade, have been suspended for alleged dishonesty and disobedience. This was in response to the incident.
In a statement signed by PDP National Publicity Director Chinwe Norom, the PDP National Working Committee said the suspended police officers would be referred to a disciplinary committee chaired by PDP Deputy National Chairman (Southern) Taofik Alapaja. He also mentioned that he had instructed the council to conduct an investigation.
Following his suspension, Ologunagba said in an interview with Channels TV that he and his group were “fighting the path of justice for the survival of the party.”
However, he did not mention the names of the NWC members on his side, saying that the party’s NWC has become factionalized, with some members siding with him and others siding with acting national chairman Ilya Damagum. He emphasized that there is.
Mr Ologunagba argued that the suspension was intolerable, pointing out that he had never been confronted by the party machinery and had never attended a meeting where allegations were raised against him.
He denied attending the meeting where the suspension was decided.
He claimed that the interests of the acting national chairman and his supporters were causing further harm to the party.
