The Israel Defense Forces have sealed off key parts of Hezbollah’s underground infrastructure in southern Lebanon, the military reported Saturday evening.
Troops from the 98th Division’s Paratrooper Brigade, Yahalom Force, and Northern Army Combat Engineering Corps destroyed 250 meters of underground tunnels and facilities used by Hezbollah’s Radwan forces.
The underground network was identified and investigated during a recent cross-border operation in conjunction with special forces. The Israel Defense Forces discovered a headquarters, a terrorist fighting group, and a large cache of weapons reportedly intended for use in Hezbollah’s invasion of Israel.
The tunnel also contained living quarters with showers, kitchens, and food stores.
Notably, the underground infrastructure did not extend into Israeli territory. The tunnel was sealed by Northern Army Combat Engineering and Yahalom forces with the cooperation of the Technical and Construction Department of the Ministry of Defense.
