Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, the former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), has condemned the unpleasant reaction to former Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi’s submissions on the difficulties plaguing the country.
Naija News reported that Amaechi expressed disappointment in the response of Nigerians to the economic woes in the country.
The politician said he expected young people to take to various streets to protest against the high cost of living.
However, some politicians, including the All Progressives Congress (APC), Omoyele Sowore and Bello Matawalle, condemned Amaechi’s remarks, claiming that he was inciting the people.
While sharing his thoughts on the development, Mr. Eze wondered where the former transport minister went wrong to justify the reaction he received from politicians.
He said, “Indeed, right-thinking Nigerians, Mr. Amaechi did nothing wrong in his statement.
“What is particularly difficult for Sowore, Moruka, Mattaware, Sani, and Onanuga to understand in Amaechi’s serious expression?”
“Aren’t Nigerians suffering from the effects of the ignorant policies of the Tinubu government?
“What indication is there that the administration is interested in listening to the cries of Nigerians and addressing their grievances?
“Wasn’t it just a few days ago that the APC government led by President Bola Tinubu increased the price of fuel pumps to over 1,000 Naira without doing anything to combat the poverty, security and deaths that come with it?
“In the face of the challenge of the Hydra-heads overwhelming Nigeria, I hope that the APC, Sowore and Tinubu governments will not allow people like Amaechi to be hoarded like furniture and watch the country fall into the abyss. That expectation is unpatriotic and extremely evil.
“The fact is that if patriotic Nigerians like Amaechi remain silent about the series of economic crises besetting the Nigerian nation as a result of the reckless abandon of the ignorant Tinubu regime, Nigeria will collapse and there will be no recovery. It will remain in an unbearable condition.
“It is reprehensible that the Tinubu administration, along with the APC, has unleashed a barrage of baseless media abuse against Amaechi, citing honest concerns about the national situation, perpetuating poverty and The cumulative reality that exposes the government’s conspiracy to deploy this as a real vehicle for 2027 and this year is cause for serious concern.
“I would have liked to have heard the president convey to Nigerians his administration’s policy thrust to get the country out of its current troubles, rather than a frivolous response as a defense against the disastrous consequences it has continued to produce. . That’s the beginning.
“There is no need to remind the Tinubu administration that it was under Governor Amaechi that Port Harcourt won the title of World Book Capital beating out rival cities in the Western world.”
