The factional chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Mr. Tony Okocha, has denied claims that he visited the Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Chijoke Ifunwo.
Naija News understands that a photo of Okocha sitting alongside Ihunwo was posted online.
The circulation of the image led to speculation that Mr. Okocha, during his meeting with Mr. Ihunwo, had expressed his intention to cooperate with Governor Siminalai Hubala’s camp.
However, Okocha dismissed the allegations in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Vincent Gbosi, on Sunday, calling it “cheap and infantile propaganda sponsored by political newcomers and propagated by ignorant supporters on social media. ” he explained.
He also said the images in question had been manipulated and urged the public to ignore the rumors.
