Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has called on members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State to mobilize overwhelming support for the party’s victory in the upcoming governorship election on Saturday.
The former vice president, in a press statement signed by his media advisor, Mr. Paul Ibe, on Tuesday said that Hong Johnson, the flag bearer of the PDP in this election. Agboola Ajayi is a talented politician who has what it takes to not only energize the party in elections, but also improve the lives of the people of the Sunshine State.
“The governorship election in Ondo State this Saturday is an opportunity for the people of Ondo State to take the state to greater prosperity.
“As everyone can see, the APC is a totally unpopular political party that does not have the interests of the people as its central objective.
“The people of Ondo State have a chance with Hon. Ajayi of PDP tells APC enough is enough.
“As party leaders, we will provide all necessary support to ensure that the APC is not allowed to suppress the will of voters in this election.
“This is also a sound warning to all election officials and volunteers that the PDP will resolutely combat any irregularities in the Ondo governorship election,” Atiku added.
But the former vice president called on people in the Sunshine State to come in droves to vote and ensure their votes are counted.
“When the tide rises, the gimmick is too big. The people of Ondo State are known for their outspokenness and this election calls for eternal vigilance,” Atiku said.
