Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has reiterated his administration’s commitment to providing free basic and secondary education to all children in the state.
He made this pledge at the unveiling ceremony of the SKAID Foundation and its first scholarship award ceremony in Kaduna on Friday.
Governor Sani emphasized that education is the basis of human capital development, stating:
“When we invest in the education of our young people, we are laying the foundations for a prosperous future.
“Our administration is committed to ensuring that every child in Kaduna State has access to free basic and secondary education, ensuring 12 years of uninterrupted quality education.
“No child in Kaduna State will be left behind, regardless of their economic status or birth status.”
Speaking about the SKAID Foundation’s scholarships, Sani praised the initiative as an important tool to develop an educated, skilled and empowered generation.
He noted that these initiatives would support the state’s progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the education sector.
The Governor encouraged scholarship recipients to seize this opportunity, stressing that this initiative not only uplifts individuals but also strengthens communities.
Rear Admiral Ferguson (RTD), Chairman of the SKAID Foundation Board of Directors, echoed the governor’s sentiments in his welcome address.
Mr. Bobai reiterated the foundation’s belief that all children, regardless of their background, have the right to quality education.
