Kano Assembly Majority Leader speaks on the alleged rift between Governor Yusuf and Kwankwaso

Kano State House of Assembly Majority Leader, Hon. Husseini Dara has denied rumors of a falling out between Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, leader of the Kwankwasiya Movement.
Dara told reporters at the State House on Monday that the alleged feud was nothing more than a fabrication spread by people outside Kano state who called themselves “enemies of progress.”

The Kwankwasiya Movement, a key faction within the ruling New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano City, has played a pivotal role in the political success of the governor, who is closely aligned with Kwankwaso, the NNPP’s 2023 presidential candidate. I accomplished it.

Mr Dara characterized the relationship between Mr Yusuf and Mr Kwankwaso as that of a “father and son”, stressing that the two share a common commitment to the progress of the nation.

The lawmaker also clarified that there is no conflict between the Kano State House of Assembly and Governor Yusuf.

He said, “In order to distort the cordial relationship that exists between the legislative body of the government and the governor, who is the leader of the Kwankwasiya movement, he came to Kano with all his support from far away Abuja to cause resentment. Commenting on the House of Representatives’ position calling on the governor to assert himself politically and break away from Mr. Kwankwaso’s control, the House Majority Leader said the governor is an independent-minded politician who will govern the state as stipulated in his oath of office. He emphasized that , pointed out that those calling for secession intend to cause a crisis in the country.

He said those who made such calls will fail and will never return to power, adding that the state governor and members of the state House of Assembly are fully committed to the NNPP and Kwankwasiya leader, Senator Kwankwaso. He emphasized that he pledged loyalty.
