Former Kano State Commissioner for Rural Area Development, Abba Sani Abbas, has left the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
Naija News reports that Abbas, who was recently sacked along with five other members by Governor Abba Yusuf, has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He was welcomed to the APC by Deputy Senate President Balau Jibrin.
During the welcome ceremony, President Abbas also symbolically dropped his red hat, the symbol of the Kwankwasiyya movement, and replaced it with another hat, according to a video released by the Senate Vice President's Press Office.

The court further stated that the Federal High Court in Kano does not have jurisdiction to hear the monarchy case as it should be heard under the state high court.
Reacting to the court’s verdict after prayers at his palace in Kano on Friday, Sheikh Sanusi praised the verdict and urged the people of the state to remain patient and pray.
