A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji (Dr.) Ilyasu Musa Kwankwaso, on Thursday said that the recent suspension of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Abdullahi Bappa Bichi, is in line with the previous suspension of Mr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. He claimed to prove the validity of his statement. He is said to have political ambitions.
At a press conference in Kano, Dr. Ilyasu Musa Kwankwaso said, “I believe that Dr. Kwankwaso will pocket the Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, because of his despair over his 2027 presidential ambitions.” “My statements were proven correct several times.”
His comments come at a time when concerns about Senator Kwankwaso’s influence within the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) are growing, especially as the suspension of the SSG and Governor Yusuf’s continued peace efforts are being undermined. This is based on the fact that the situation is increasing.
Mr. Ilyasu Musa Kwankwaso accused Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso of not being truthful enough about the circumstances surrounding the suspension, claiming that the suspension was orchestrated by the NNPP Chairman, Hon. Hashim Dungurawa.
He warned Governor Yusuf to free himself from Mr Kwankwaso’s political guidance in order to maintain his integrity.
“Dr. Kwankwaso’s actions are driven by desperation,” he said, advising President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to remain cautious about the possibility of Senator Kwankwaso defecting to the APC and He warned that it could lead to conflict.
“The suspension of the SSG is just the tip of the iceberg,” Ilyasu Musa Kwankwaso hinted, predicting that more prominent figures within the NNPP who are considered Kwankwaso’s political opponents would also meet a similar fate.
