The remains of the late Nigeria national team goalkeeper, Peter Apo Fregene, were laid to rest on Friday, November 29, in his hometown of Abraka, Delta State, according to burial plans announced by his family through former Nigeria national team captain, Segun Odegbami. It was decided that on monday.
The funeral service began on November 27 with a singing service in Sapele, Delta State, followed by a farewell service at the Sapele Township Stadium, followed by a football match hosted by members of the All Stars International Football Club. A match is scheduled to be played. before the body was taken to Abraka for internet the same day. The exercise will conclude with a reception at Sapele on Saturday, November 30th.

Fregene passed away after an illness on October 14, surrounded by his wife, Tina, and their two children.
He represented Nigeria at the 1968 Mexico Olympics and was a member of the national team in the 1960s and 70s, known for his incredible reflexes and resilience between the sticks.
