The single blends melodic acoustic guitar with Rojay’s signature afrofusion sound. This is complemented by lyrics that explore love, longing, and search for your ideal partner.
“People like someone” expose themselves to the processes of love, heartbreak and healing, and delve into the emotional complexities of relationships. “If I gave you love to my ceiling /What if I bought you a little more reason” and “I pray that I will find a spiritual woman /But I Use all my time / I use my time / Just look for someone like you / For someone else “” expresses a longing for hope to find connection and lasting love.
Lojay shared his thoughts on the song, saying “someone like you” is telling a story of hope. The hope of healing and finding love again, even in the darkest moments. This is one song I really enjoyed as I draw pictures of love, heartbreak and healing within 3 minutes with an infectious instrumental. ”
The single reunites Salz and Rojay, two-time Grammy-nominated producers. Their previous collaborations, including Rojay’s acclaimed debut EP LV ‘N’ ATTN, featuring global hits like “Mona Lisa,” solidified their reputation as a dynamic duo in the African music industry.
The release of “You Like Someone” follows Rojay’s recent Grammy nomination for “Sensenal,” a collaboration between Chris Brown and David. The nomination highlights Rojay’s growing international recognition and marks another important achievement in his career.
