Former gubernatorial candidate, Olusola Oke, has expressed confidence that Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa will emerge the winner of the ongoing gubernatorial election in Ondo State.
Naija News reports that the leading lawmaker of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) made the remarks on Saturday, November 16, elections after voting in Ilowo, Ugbo 003 Ward, Ilaje Local Government Area of the state.
It is noteworthy that Mr. Oke ran with Mr. Ayedatiwa for the party’s gubernatorial election but lost in the primary election.
Regarding Saturday’s election, Mr Ayedatiwa is competing against Mr Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who is seen as the frontrunner in the election, Mr Abbas Mimiko of the Zenith Labor Party (ZLP) and Mr Olorunfemi Ayodele Festus of the Labor Party. are.
However, the APC leader noted that the electoral process was peaceful and voters were exercising their rights without fear or intimidation.
He insisted that the opposition does not have the strength to win this election and stressed that the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Ayedatiwa, is ready to win.
“Elections are held peacefully everywhere. I can see the joy of the people who come out to vote despite the difficult terrain of the waterfront.
“We have been waiting for this moment for a long time. The governorship candidate of APC is very visible and will win the election because the broom has swung very cleanly towards our victory.
“There is no credible opposition in the state and the governor comes from an environment where the people have long craved good leadership. We will deliver our votes to him. The governor is certain of his victory. I guarantee you,” Daily Trust quoted Oke as saying.
Mr Oke, however, said the elections were proceeding smoothly and appealed to the people to maintain peace in the state.
