The Umberle and Rebranding Initiative of Nigeria (URNI), a non-governmental organization, has announced a plan aimed at building the capacity of 30 million Nigerian youth to become technology entrepreneurs.
Speaking to the press at the unveiling ceremony, the Chairman of the URNI Advisory Committee, Dr. Vincent Ugochukwu, said the core values of the initiative are primarily to inculcate patriotism and entrepreneurial spirit in Nigerians from an early age. He emphasized the view.
He said: “Our vision at URNI is to foster a nation where Nigerians at home and abroad can celebrate their heritage and actively contribute to the development of the country.
“URNI recognizes Nigeria’s youth as the driving force behind the country’s rebranding efforts and intends to focus on engaging them.”
“We believe that young people are the heartbeat of this country. Their creativity, resilience and dedication will power the future we all want to see.
The group explained that several tech hubs and skill acquisition centers are being established across Nigeria as part of its strategy to achieve the set goals.
Other strategies include putting in place arrangements to celebrate Nigeria’s rich and diverse cultural heritage, with the aim of strengthening bonds of unity, and encouraging successful Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to engage young people in the technology sector. This may include providing avenues for guidance.
Also speaking at the event, Nura Ibrahim Miko, Assistant to the Chairperson of the URNI Advisory Board, said URNI is committed to empowering young Nigerians to take charge of their own destiny and lead positive change. said.
Similarly, the URNI Program Coordinator, Mr. Abdulkadir Lawal, in his welcome address, spoke about the 30-day National Youth Conference planned by President Bola Tinubu.
He said this would be an opportunity for Nigerian youths to express their views on the country and set an agenda for leaders on how to move the country forward.
