Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogbagi-Akoko Ward 6 of Ondo State have rejected a group of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defectors led by Bobade Gboyega popularly known as “Dangerous”.
The refusal follows what APC members described as an unauthorized acceptance of defectors by some local party leaders.
The issue was brought to light during a visit by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Engagement (Ondo North), His Highness Bode Obunla, as part of his fact-finding and reconciliation mission in the Ondo North Senatorial District. It became.
APC members made their position clear, calling the admission of defectors “unacceptable and void.”
They accused party leaders of deceiving them into allowing Bobade to integrate into the party, but now firmly oppose the move.
Mr. Obanla also addressed concerns surrounding the recent brutal attack on Mr. Hon. Eli Oweh, Executive Director of Aiyedatiwa Campaign in Akoko North West Local Government, said: He assured members that this attack would not go unnoticed.
The Senior Special Assistant reassured members that the controversy and negative perception caused by the acceptance of PDP defectors would be addressed.
He said: “Governor Lucky Olimisan Ayedatiwa is not only a peace-loving governor but also reassures us that he is not portrayed as an indifferent person, but someone who has kindness in his blood. Please.”
“The doors of the APC as a party are open to all, but not to the perpetrators of dastardly acts who seek to take advantage of decamping to escape punishment.
“We must arrest these criminals and hold them to the full weight of the law as a deterrent to other criminals.”
