Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, the apex youth wing of the Igbo socio-cultural organization, has condemned former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, for his desperate bid to become the President of Nigeria.
The national chairman of the group, Maji Okwu Nabuike, on Friday issued a criticism in response to Atiku’s post on the social media platform.
Atiku, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), shared a photo of himself with a group he called “Ohanaze Ndigbo Youth Worldwide” and claimed that they paid him a courtesy visit to Abuja. Ta.
“Yesterday, ‘Ohanaze Ndigbo’ Youth Worldwide, led by Chairman Ogbonya Virtulance, paid a courtesy visit to my residence in Abuja,” Atiku wrote.
Reacting to the post, Mr Nnabuike denied the group’s authenticity and described the visit as an attempt to garner false support.
He accused Atiku of using covert tactics to further his own ambitions.
“It is unfortunate that Atiku Abubakar has resorted to black market support to fulfill his ambitions which were gone by the time he arrived,” Nabuike said.
According to him, “The photo posted by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is a grave insult to Ndigbo sensibilities.
“We will not budge if he wants to spend money on false elements, but we cannot accept that he is dragging the esteemed Ohanaeze Ndigbo youths into despair.
“Rather than describing his ‘fake customers’ as Ohanaeze youths, he could have used any other name. This is nothing but desperation gone too far.
“We need to make it clear to him and others considering his direction that Nigeria is not just for people like Atiku.
“As an elder statesman, he should do what he should to promote unity and equity in this country and be a champion of destabilization.
“The return of power to North Korea in 2027, just four years after Muhammadu Buhari ends his eight-year term, is not only unjust, it is immoral.”
He added: “In 2031, power will shift to the North. By then, we will all be throwing our support behind candidates we have a lot of credibility with, rather than candidates who can’t even respect their own party’s zoning.” It will happen,” he added.
Meanwhile, Okwu advised Nigerians “to desist from doing business with faceless groups in the name of Ohanaeze youths as it would be to their own detriment.”
“These groups of beggars do not represent Ohanaeze youth in any way.
“Atiku Abubakar’s desperation to become president of Nigeria led him to patronize scammers and beggars posing as Ohanaeze.
“No other Nigerian should fall victim to these traders.”
