Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmoud Yakubu, has said that all political parties will commit to signing the peace agreement on November 8, 2024 in preparation for the Ondo State governorship election scheduled for November 16. Acknowledging the role of CSOs in mobilizing voters for card collection, he said INEC would publish cumulative PVC collection statistics by voting unit on its website.
The INEC Chairman expressed approval for the progress made in the voter certification process and procedures for uploading results, as well as improvements in the certification of media and observers. To ensure the timely opening and efficient management of voting and results on election day, additional logistical arrangements have been put in place, particularly regarding the movement of personnel and supplies to both land and riverine areas.
