A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Mr Olatunbosun Oyintiloe, has praised the party’s growing influence under President Bola Tinubu.
In his speech on Monday, Mr. Oyintiloe predicted continued success of the APC in the upcoming elections following its resounding victory in the Ondo State governorship election.
As a member of the APC National Election Stakeholder Engagement Committee on the elections, Mr. Oyintiloe highlighted the party’s superiority in the elections and congratulated Governor-elect Lucky Aedatiwa.
According to a Naija News report, Mr. Aedatiwa garnered an overwhelming 366,781 votes against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Agboola Ajayi, who received 117,845 votes.
Mr Oyintiloe interpreted the result as a clear sign of voters’ confidence in the APC’s leadership and Mr Tinubu’s “New Hope” agenda.
“It was previously predicted that the large number of votes that the APC would receive during the elections would shock the opposition parties, especially the PDP, and that has turned out to be the case.
“This landslide victory shows that the masses and voters of Ondo State still have faith in the APC and the administration of President Tinubu.
“This is a strong signal that other states ruled by opposition parties will also be conveyed to the APC by their voters,” he said.
Mr. Oyintiroye reflected on the recent electoral successes in Edo and Ondo states and expressed optimism about the performance of the APC in the upcoming off-cycle elections.
He cited the party’s growing strength under President Tinubu as the driving force behind these victories.
“From the old castle to Edo, and now to Ondo. Anambra is waiting for Ekiti and Osun to come last in the general elections. APC has become stronger under Tinubu and the series of successes the party has recorded since Tinubu assumed office is an indication that people still believe in the party and its leadership,” Oyintiloe said. .
The APC chief urged Aedatiwa to adopt a lenient approach to governance and focus on fulfilling his campaign promises.
Mr Oyintiloe also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring a free, fair and credible electoral process, and praised the peaceful conduct of voters.
