The House of Representatives member for Dogwa/Tudun Wada constituency, Alhassan Ado Dogwa, has appealed to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State over his remarks in Ede.
Alhassan Dogwa said his remarks at the Ede Day celebrations on Saturday on behalf of Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas were used by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) media team to score political points. He said it was twisted.
Mr Doguwa’s appeal was in response to a statement by Osun APC Public Relations Officer Kola Olabisi on Monday, who claimed that he had promoted the party during Ede Day celebrations.
The Chairman, House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream) said, “I quoted it out of context. To be honest, the PDP media team in Osun has misused my joke to use it in the context of the local political struggle of our party, APC. It was really unfortunate. They took advantage of my innocent comment and used it for cheap political gain.”
The Kano State lawmaker emphasized that he is a loyal and proud member of the APC. The party has vowed to take over Osun State from the PDP in 2026.
“I would like to extend my sincere and unreserved apology to the APC family in Osun State. My deepest and most sincere apologies. By the grace of God, the days of the PDP in Osun State are numbered. In 2026. , our party will bounce back in the state, InshaAllah.
“I will always remain a loyal and proud member of Africa’s largest political party, the APC. As a founding member of the APC, I am the party’s chief promoter not only in Kano but across the country.
I urge my APC brethren in Osun to accept my apology for what I believe to be the underlying comments and statements against my party. I never intended to undermine or embarrass my mother’s party for any reason. Thank you,” he added.
