The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won all chairperson and parliamentary seats in Zamfara State, except for Birnin Magaji Local Government Area and Kaura Namoda Local Government Area, where results were yet to be announced as of Saturday night. Ta.
Chairman of the Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission (ZASIEC), Hon Howard, announced the results. Bala Aliyu Gusau declared the elections free, fair and peaceful.
He noted that representatives of all contesting political parties were present at the vote-counting operation and that no objections were raised regarding the conduct of the elections.
“The elections were free, fair, credible and peaceful. No political party raised any objections to the process,” Gusau said.
He further promised that Birnin Magaji and Qawra Namoda LGA results would be announced on Sunday.
The winner will then receive a certificate of return and take the oath at Government House on the same day.
My lord. Mr. Gusau commended security agencies and stakeholders for ensuring the success of the elections, stressing that the commission had not received any reports of irregularities.
The PDP’s lead in the polls reflects its strong position in the state, and political observers are eagerly awaiting the final results, which will determine the outcome of the remaining local councils.
