The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured a landslide victory in the recently concluded Zamfara State Local Government elections, winning all 14 chairpersonships and all municipal council seats in the state.
Announcing the results on Sunday morning, Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission (ZASIEC) Chairman Bala Aliyu confirmed the overwhelming success of the PDP at a press conference in Gusau.
“PDP candidates won in all local governments, including Gusau, Kaura Namoda, Maru, Talata Mafara and Anka, among others,” Aliyu said, adding that the elections were free, fair and credible. He said there is.
He attributed the smooth implementation of the exercise to the cooperation of security agencies, election authorities and voters.
PDP representative at the Collation Center, Wadatau Madawaki, praised the results as “a strong endorsement of the PDP’s leadership and commitment to the development of Zamfara State”.
He called on the newly elected chairman to cooperate with Governor Dauda Lawal’s relief mission to ensure progress and prosperity in the state.
Independent election observers reported an overall peaceful atmosphere during voting and praised improved security arrangements that facilitated smooth and reliable elections.
This victory strengthened the PDP’s dominance in Zamfara State and demonstrated widespread public support for Governor Lawal’s administration and development policies.
