Mr. Agboola Ajayi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the Ondo State gubernatorial election held last Saturday, has rejected the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and has vowed to challenge them at the Electoral Tribunal.
Mr. Ajayi, a former deputy governor, accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) and INEC of engaging in widespread electoral fraud to manipulate the election results.
Mr. Ajayi, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser, Mr. Ayo Fadaka, claimed that his investigation into the electoral process revealed “the nature of the crimes prosecuted by both the APC and INEC”.
Ajayi criticized INEC’s handling of elections since the APC came to power in 2015, saying the electoral body continued its “tradition of hijacking processes and delivering results diametrically opposed to the expressed electoral aspirations”. He claimed to have come.
He argued that the election did not reflect the will of the people and called for justice through legal means.
INEC had earlier declared the APC candidate, Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa, the winner of the election after overwhelmingly winning all 18 local governments in the state.
“While we are not disclosing the nature or scope of the findings for now, our only prayer is that those who have the privilege of determining the fate of people and nations live up to expectations and fear God,” he said. It’s about becoming,” he said. Our country’s interests are health, peace and tranquility. Otherwise, they will be reduced to the same level as the criminals and bandits who continue to lay land mines that undermine the development of our countries.
“We especially call on the judiciary to strengthen and fulfill its sacred and burdensome responsibility to ensure the portability of justice to the people and institutions that seek it. The nation and its people will highly appreciate it.”
“In summary, we reject the results of the November 16th election and will take legal action to overturn that profligate act. That is the option available to us, and we are human beings and ultimate… I hope God will give us justice.”
“The time has come to start removing criminal activity from the electoral process.”
