Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has said his good work in Abuja is a manifestation of President Bola Tinubu’s policy of new hope.
Mr Wike said this while inspecting the ongoing construction site of the 5km Sabri-Dayday road in Abuja.
According to him, Tinubu’s promise to satisfy Nigerians is being fulfilled through good works that renew the hope of the people.
“Good governance includes the provision of basic infrastructure, transparency and accountability, ensuring safety and providing quality health and education to the people,” Wike said.
“Everything we have done in the FCT is part of good governance.”
The Minister expressed happiness that the people are satisfied with what is being done in the FCT to change lives.
“We’re happy that people appreciate what we’re doing. It’s very important to us that people are happy,” he added.
Wike vows to continue demolishing shacks despite protests
Meanwhile, Wike vowed that his administration would continue demolishing shacks in the FCT.
He insisted that no amount of protest would curb development.
Mr Wike said this during a visit to Luga community along the Ui axis of the capital.
He explained that the administration will now engage in dialogue with the city’s barracks residents and come up with long-term recommendations to stop them from illegally setting up communities.
He also deemed the protests held on Friday naming the FCTA land grabbers as having misplaced priorities.
