The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Moruka, has accused former presidential candidate of the Labor Party (LP), Peter Obi, of misleading Nigerians with his criticism of the current government.
Mr Morka said contrary to Mr Obi’s remarks at the New Year press conference, the economy was recovering in all sectors.
In an interview with Arise TV on Saturday, discussing the party’s statement that the LP leader is a prophet of doom, Molka said he is deliberately misleading the public with completely false information.
He stressed that President Bola Tinubu made radical policy decisions because the situation in the country was wrong. The most important thing, he argued, is that the policy produces positive results.
“Much of what Mr. Obi said in the press conference is wrong, completely false, deliberately misleading and trying to make Nigerians believe things that are not true. However, the country has recovered significantly.
“Yes, things were tough in the beginning, but the toughness didn’t start with this administration. The fact is that the reforms that Mr. Obi was talking about are going to fix Nigeria towards prosperity and Things were not necessarily right when this government came into office, and the President set out to fundamentally reposition us. 18 decided to launch a very bold policy. Now, months later, we are seeing the results.
“We should not focus on whether those decisions were right or wrong. We should focus on the clear new impacts and outcomes of these policies, all of which are for the better. So when Mr. Obi says that everything is worse today than it was yesterday, I don’t agree and I don’t think many Nigerians agree with him either, because that’s not an accurate assessment. ” he said.
Peter Obi is unreasonable
The National Publicity Secretary of the APC has maintained that the former Anambra State governor has no right to criticize President Tinubu’s policies.
He maintained that Peter Obi did not transform Anambra into governorship. He added that he was mindful of the defeat he recorded in the 2023 presidential election.
Molka advised Obi to exercise restraint in his comments. He also told him to deal with the president’s defeat.
“Mr. He is not rational. For someone who served as governor for eight years and left nothing behind in Anambra State in the form of legacy or transformation, he is unreasonable. This public opinion is completely unreasonable.
“He served as governor for eight years. He did not have the wisdom or smarts to transform Anambra State and make Anambra a beacon of model for governance in this country. But then he He ran for president, but did not win.
“He’s sulking rather than actually gaining perspective and understanding what he’s lost so he can do better in the future. He’s just maliciously deceiving. You think you can overthrow the government. You’re wrong. You know, I’m not the kind of person to do anything offensive like that. But Mr. Obi has crossed the line many times. And at this point, what he’s got is… I think he needs to manage that too,” Molka said.
