Max Homa and Will Zalatoris will head to South Africa in December.
The two Americans will meet at the Nedbank Golf Challenge at Gary Player Country Club in Sun City, with Homa emerging as the defending champion. The former California Golden Bear won the 2023 tournament in his debut, finishing four strokes behind Ryder Cup star Nikolaj Højgaard of Denmark. Homa is currently defending his title and aiming for his second overall victory on the DP World Tour.
Meanwhile, Zalatoris will be making his debut.
“I’m excited to be heading to South Africa for the Nedbank Golf Challenge,” said Zalatoris.
“I have had great experiences playing in DP World Tour tournaments around the world and I am confident that South Africa will be just as memorable. I’ve heard so much about the tournament and its rich history. Plus, it’s going to be a great week with the chance to experience a new country and culture.”
Zalatoris has not played in a non-PGA Tour sanctioned DP World Tour event since 2021. That year, he tied for 37th at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai. The former Wake Forest guard Damon Deacon missed most of 2023 after injuring his back at the Masters. However, he bounced back with a solid season in 2024, finishing runner-up at the Genesis Invitational and finishing in the top 10 at Augusta National. He also finished within the top 50 in the final FedEx Cup standings, guaranteeing him a spot in each of next season’s signature events.
Other notable players at this year’s Nedbank Challenge include Canadian Corey Connors and two South African standouts, Christian Bezuidenhout and Erik van Rooyen. Bezuidenhout and van Rooyen will represent South Africa at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Nedbank Golf Challenge is the third event of the 2025 DP World Tour season. The new year begins with the BMW Australian PGA Championship in Brisbane and the ISPS Handa Australian Open at Kingston Heath in Melbourne in late November.
