Police on Thursday confirmed the identity of the body of a young woman found on DLA Road in Asaba, Delta State.
Delta Police Spokesperson for Bright Edafe said in a statement in Asaba on Saturday that the body, which was subsequently removed by the police, was identified as that of a 23-year-old woman, Precious Yusuf.
“On October 24, 2024, at approximately 8:40am, DPO ‘A’ Division Asaba received a distress call stating that the body of a young woman was found on DLA Road opposite Falcon Club.
“The DPO, CSP Rex Abiodun, quickly mobilized and directed the police personnel of the station to the scene where the body of the woman was discovered.
“A subsequent preliminary investigation revealed that on October 22, 2024, the late Miss Precious told a friend that she was going to meet a male friend she met on a dating site.
“She left home on October 22 to meet a young man in Coca, and at around 7:30 a.m. on the 23, she called a friend to say she was on her way home. That was the last time she heard from her friend. It was,” he said. said the Edafe police chief.

Edafe disclosed that the body was later placed in the mortuary pending an autopsy.
