Former Ekiti Governor Kayode Feyemi has called on young people to move into politics, noting that it is changing lives.
Naija News reports that Fayemi has said that one policy of political officials can destroy the lives and achievements of people in other professions and ruin society.
In an interview with Channels TV on Thursday, All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain noted that only good political policies can transform society.
The former Minister of Solid Mineral added that his influence as governor of Ekiti has had more impact on the state residents than his personal actions.
He said: “Absolutely. Politics offers the best chance of transformative ideas in any space. In other words, young people, old people, can make a difference in whatever they choose. The IT sector, the education profession in engineering innovation and creativity can do everything. But a single policy by a politician can destroy everything you did. That is, what I see what’s going on, that is, with the greatest respect for the popular majority in America, we’re now looking at what’s going on in that country.
“We believe that people who are nurtured and provided with tools and insights need to work on a larger scale. In politics, I used to be an activist and I am still an activist. We were barricaded. We were promoted and fought for democracy. I ran the underground radio.
“But what I can do with Ekiti has affected more lives. Meanwhile, I’ll dive down and sign a Social Security Benefit System for the Elderly, or free education for many children. I signed off for the program. I met many people in higher education, who do well for themselves, their families.
“But we all need to do well for this society to maintain the benefits brought to our families. And I think it’s the best opportunity for politics to serve us humanity. We believe that it will provide.
