Daniel Bwara, special adviser to President Bora Tinubu on policy communication, has denounced former Kaduna governor, Nasir El Rufai, of his resignation from all the progressive parliamentary (APC) of his control.
Naija News reports that Elrufai has officially resigned from the APC and joined the Social Democrats (SDP), citing irreconcilable differences with the ruling leaders.
In his resignation letter filed on Monday in his ward in Kaduna, El Rufai expressed disappointment at the APC trajectory in recent years.
El-Rufai, a founding member of the APC, played a key role in securing the party’s election victory in 2015, 2019 and 2023. Reflecting his tenure as Governor Kaduna, he highlighted the administration's focus on human development, healthcare, infrastructure, job creation and investment.
Despite his contributions, he has shown his decision to say goodbye to the APC due to growing concerns about governance and internal party dynamics.
El-Rufai announced his move to SDP, expressing gratitude to his leaders, colleagues and supporters, reaffirming his commitment to advance democratic principles.
In a post via X on Monday, Bwala said he had nothing against Elrufai to abandon the ruling party, as it is his constitutional right.
The president’s aide argued that El Rufai’s relationship with the painful loser to free existing people was neither ideological nor progressive, but a hostile ambition destined to fail.
He writes: “Senior, @elrufai. I read the news today that you have resigned from APC to join the SDP. I have nothing against you as you exercised your constitutional rights.
“But the motivation is a reminder that we will interrogate in the next few days and that Nigerians are not incredible that you will appear like thunder applause from the blue sky.
“We are an intellectual reminder that associations with losers are not ideological or progressive, to develop relationships with those who are painful. It is simply a hostile ambition, and it is destined to fail.”
