The 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has reached an agreement with the presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Atiku Abubakar and his Labor Party (LP). He dismissed the reports. He will share power with Peter Obi for alternate terms.
Naija News reported that Mr Kwankwaso expressed anger at the lies in an interview with the BBC.
He stressed that he was unaware of such claims, but had heard reports that Atiku’s camp was meeting with local leaders, including clerics, to promote the theory.
The former Kano State governor also explained that since leaving the PDP for the NNPP, he has found peace and distanced himself from the power-sharing agreement.
He said, “This issue deeply angers me when I hear that respected elders are spreading lies about something that didn’t even happen. I did not appreciate this at all.
“They were told that they had agreed to a contract where Mr. Atiku would serve for four years, I would serve for another four years and Mr. Peter Obi would serve for eight years. This is completely false. Such an agreement never existed.
“Such lies and deceit are exactly why we left. Myself, Peter Obi, Wike and others all left. Now they have come back and humiliated us. We are asking you to help people achieve their goals.”
