Rivers State Governor Siminalai Hubala has said the recent political crisis in the state is a divine arrangement aimed at promoting political freedom and economic growth.
Mr. Hubala made this assertion during a thanksgiving service held in honor of His Majesty King Eze Chike Woluru Wodo, who was recently appointed Chairman of the Rivers State Traditional Rulers Council.
The service took place on Sunday at the Shepherd’s Hill Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Mbuoba Community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area. During the event, the diocese leadership presented Governor Nunohara with a Bible.
Governor Nunohara stressed that despite the challenges facing his administration, which many considered insurmountable, the government has become stronger and more focused. He attributed this resilience to divine intervention.
“God’s involvement transformed what many expected to overwhelm us into an opportunity for renewed strength,” Hubala said.
The governor reaffirmed his dedication to governance and abiding faith in God, stressing that he relies on God’s wisdom and guidance to lead the state effectively.
Mr. Hubala expressed the hope that his administration would be remembered by future generations as one that stood firmly with God.
The Thanksgiving service was attended by dignitaries, religious leaders, and community members, highlighting the symbolic importance of the event in the state’s ongoing path toward political stability and progress.
he said: “I also believe that what you call trouble is not trouble to me. I believe it is God’s purpose for a new direction for our country.
“From day one, he has taken us to greater heights, so instead of becoming weaker, we are becoming stronger and bolder every day.
“We want to finish our work, and our story will be the story of people who are led in the fear of God. But in the end, there must be a reason why angels won’t allow demons to take our bodies.”
Governor Nunohara pointed out the importance of gratitude to God. This is because gratitude to God brings assurance of eternal existence and gives us a clearer picture of what path to take in any situation.
According to him, it was in line with the royal family’s commitments, and he expressed particular joy at being able to join his royal father’s family in giving thanks to God.
He noted the energy with which Eze Chike Woluru Wodo danced gratefully before God, and likened it to the way the Biblical King David danced before God without shame.
“This is one of the things that God loved King David so much,” Hubala said. “He glorified God in a special way. He was not ashamed, and God loved him. I’m glad and honestly, I’m really humbled that at this age and as a traditional ruler, you still worship God so highly. He will elevate you beyond your imagination.
“I am glad to be in the presence of God today and especially to be able to worship in one of the living churches in Nigeria and the world.
“I have to say that there is nothing more important than being thankful to God. Even when things seem uncertain, giving thanks gives us confidence and helps us see things more clearly.
“And this morning, I join this family in thanking God with you and assuring people that our story will end in praise because it is God that we have brought to the fore. I would like to.”
Governor Nunohara enjoined the church to continue to pray unflinchingly for peace in his administration and the nation as a whole.
He argued that although things may seem harsh from a physical perspective, God does not work like humans. Even if it takes time, his goal will be achieved.
“And there is only one secret to our government, and that is your prayers. The quiet, secret prayers you pray for us in your closet are important.
“I tell you, there’s no prayer that God doesn’t answer. It’s like putting money in the bank. So I thank you and continue to uphold the fear of God in everything we do. I want to guarantee that. We guarantee that,” he said.
