Former Kano State Governor, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, has appealed to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership at all levels to harness the country’s youth population to win the 2027 general elections.
Mr. Shekarau disclosed this at the unveiling of the PDP’s Zone Northern Forum and State Board of Youth Leaders (BoT) held in Abuja, Naija News reports.
Present at the event were Hon. Enemona Aniebe (Kogi State PDP Chairman), DR. Mr. Joel EB Adagaz (North Central Zone Organizing Secretary), Dr. Yunana Ilya (National Official) and many others.
In his speech, Shekarau said tapping into the youth population would help the party maintain power.
He also called on the youths to rally behind the PDP as the only credible alternative to liberate Nigeria from its current challenges.
According to the former Kano governor, the PDP should be returned in 2027 because it had brought the benefits of democracy to the people and improved their lives during its 16 years in power.
Also, the Chairman, Northern Forum of Zonal and State Youth Leaders of the PDP and North Central Zone Youth Leader of the PDP, Arwa Ismailabu, said the social media handles are meant to serve as an awareness tool to regain the confidence of Nigerians. He explained.
