Speaking during an interaction session with journalists in Lagos, he said the root of the crisis in the PDP was the manipulation of the party machinery by individuals who felt that their personal ambition to become President of Nigeria was more important than the interest of the party as a whole. said. .
George also criticized the management of party affairs by former national chairman Iyorukia Ayu.
Despite the challenges, the PDP leader expressed confidence that the current challenges within the party can be overcome before the 2027 general elections.
He also expressed support for the principle of rotation between the North and South.
He said: “We call our party Iroko because it did not come out of nowhere. It is firmly rooted in our constitution. Article 7 (3c) of the PDP Constitution states that the party Requires zoning and rotation of offices and elected offices.
“Everything that was in the South must go to the North, and vice versa. This principle of justice, equity, and equity is what inspired some of us to get involved in politics. We were first elected in 1999 and given procedures and principles to ensure stability.
