Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, has said that Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo has not declared his intention to run for a second term.
Mr Mefor made this known to reporters at his office yesterday.
However, while the governor has not yet expressed interest in a second term, he said his strong performance will persuade him to run.
He argued that if Sordo chooses to contest, he will win because he will show voters what he has done in the past.
“Mr. Sordo has not announced his intention to run for a second term. He is too busy implementing policies in the state to develop it,” he said.
“I am the one who persuaded him to run and if he does, I will make sure he wins. He has shown that he is what Anambra people want.
“All indexes are in favor of Soludo. He is from Anambra South and the zoning scheme is in his favor. The zoning scheme in Anambra gives him the right to a second term.
“If Sordo enters the contest, I’m sure he will win because he doesn't tell anyone what he’s going to do or what he’s going to do, but rather he tries to show what he’s done.
“Sordo has the right to run for a second term. The people who are saying they will run against him are the same people who ran against him when he was not governor and he won.
“Now that we have proof of what he did to the people of Anambra, why do you think we can’t win against them again?”
“Mr. Soludo has achieved verifiable and tangible results in Anambra and all he needs to do to be re-elected for a second term is show the Anambra people his scorecard.”
