The All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State to stop blaming the state for the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking at an event in Ibadan, Governor Makinde blamed the APC for the confusion in the PDP and other opposition parties.
In a statement, APC National Public Relations Officer, Felix Molka, advised the PDP to look within itself and address the issues.
The Morcha advised governors to focus on their primary mission of providing good governance to the people.
“He should not blame the APC for corruption within the party. Makinde has become a leading but rather shoddy drummer for his 2027 political ambitions.
“Our democracy gives Mr. Makinde freedom of political aspirations, but engaging in reckless executive action at the expense of his elected job as governor is a disgrace to the good people of Oyo State. be.
“They must take full responsibility for their disgraceful failure to address the disintegration and disintegration of the party,” the APC spokesperson said.
He added that Makinde’s unbridled political ambitions for 2027 are not based on unwarranted and unwarranted attacks on the APC and the government of President Bola Tinubu.
He said the Tinubu-led administration had launched the boldest and most ambitious reform efforts in history to transform the country’s economy and build a solid foundation for progress.
Morka said the country currently exports more than it imports, with a trade surplus of nearly N7 billion at the end of the second quarter of 2024.
“Instead of prioritizing the needs of the people of Oyo who elected him to address local issues, he has chosen to divert attention.
“Makinde must know that the size and complexity of Nigeria demands more than his empty and selfish ambitions.
“He cannot speak for Nigerians, let alone the people of Oyo State in their future election choices and decisions,” he stressed.
He appealed to Nigerians to continue to firmly support Mr. Tinubu as his reform policies begin to bring desired benefits to all Nigerians.
