The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the administration led by Governor Alex Otti of politicizing the insecurity recorded in Abia State.
Naija News recently reported that two Nigerian military personnel were shot dead by unknown gunmen at a checkpoint in Umuahia.
The Abia State government has reacted against the killings, alleging that some politicians are plotting to destabilize Governor Otti’s government through attacks by armed groups. The statement pointed out that a plan to destabilize the country by unpatriotic politicians began in May 2024.
The Publicity Secretary of the PDP in the state, Eric Ikwagwu, alleged that the Labor government has failed to provide security in the state.
Ikwuagwu said in a statement on Monday: “The Abia State Government is working with security agencies to provide concrete evidence that could lead to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the heinous killing of innocent citizens and “I asked them not to sow it,” he said. Seeds of discord.
“Politizing Asian lives is not only counterproductive, it is dangerous.
“We would like to remind the current administration that combating insecurity requires a comprehensive strategy that goes beyond mere declarations,” Ikwuagwu said.
Ikwuagwu added that the constitutional responsibility of opposition parties is to provide constructive criticism and present alternative perspectives without fear of intimidation.
