The EDO Governor’s Election Application Court did not produce a witness in their petition, who argued in the results of the governor’s election on September 21, 2024, and his candidates for the Democratic Party (PDP) and his candidates. He has expressed his dissatisfaction with ASUE IGHODALO.
In the minutes of Abuja on Tuesday, the absence of PDP and Igodaro, Sun, Adeto Gio Eipo, and the absence of witnesses was due to the “travel confusion.”
“My lords, this is why we can’t present them today. We encourage you to give your lord another date. The next date is as convenient for the court. Oyeyipo sue, saying that you will take your witnesses. “
The statement came after witness, Osiriri Aneni, was discharged. However, the Wilfred Kupochi -led court did not hide that dissatisfaction.
“What you are telling us is not good at all! Why did you ask other applicants to take a date? Today we should have heard them,” Kpochi judge. Said strictly. “In fact, please call them your witnesses. Please tell them to come, we are ready to come today.”
Despite the court’s claim, the lawyer of the petitioner complained of another postponement, and witnessed that witnesses may not be in the right framework to testify after traveling.
Niger News later gathered that the court had postponed the lawsuit on Thursday.
Earlier, Aneni, a director of PDP research and strategy, testified that the party was disgusting the results from 765 out of the 4,519 voting units in the state.
Under the interrogation, Aneni acknowledged that he did not visit all voting units during the election. He stated that most of the evidence presented by PDP was based on reports from agents and experts.
He further revealed that many copies of election results submitted by the PDP agent were not signed. Nevertheless, he argued that if the legal votes were accurately collected, Igodaro would have appeared as a winner.
Anenih has also acknowledged that PDP was not physically accessible to the Bimodal voter certification system (BVAS) machine used during the election. Instead, the parties rely on screenshots of the BVAS data submitted as evidence.
He added that PDP summoned the Independent National Election Committee (INEC) to provide a BVAS machine for verification.
When asked by the Governor of Monday Okupubobohoro, Sun, Onieti Ikpares, and Aneni confirmed that he was not trained by INEC to participate in the election process.
He also acknowledged that many of the elections raised by the PDP agent had no INEC stamps, but only three of the 16 bundles were stamped.
“For us, the three engraved were very important. It represents almost 20 %,” Aneneni said.
PDP and Igodaro cited the court to disable the election results by quoting the claims for the election results. They also argued that All Programs Congress (APC) Governor OKPEBHOLO did not secure most of the legal votes.
The court will meet again on Thursday for further hearing.
