Osun State Commission Chairman Korapo Arimi said the crisis seen in the state on Monday was caused by politicians trying to push themselves into positions of authority.
Naija News reports that Alimi claimed that Marine and Blue Economic Minister Gbeyoga Oyetola wanted to use his close ties with President Bola Tinubu to destroy the nation.
In an interview with News Central, the intelligence committee added that the election that brought the chairman of the looted local government was unconstitutional.
He said: “What is happening in Osun State today is an act of immunity organized by politicians who were rejected by the people of Osun under the leadership of Gboyega Oyetola, the current minister of the Blue and Ocean Economy. They are trying to force a judgement that does not exist.
“We don’t know how someone will just wake up and try to promote trouble as quickly as possible in the name of the fact that you want to force judgment. We will execute. We pushed our judgment all over the world to see if there was a decision to be made.
“But they said there was a godfather in Abuja. They said Gboyega Oyetola was the nephew of the president and would use them to pass through the back door.
“Even though they knew that the elections they conducted were unconstitutional, they conducted the election and gave two months’ notice when the law provided for a 360-day notice. That fact also Nonetheless, they really wanted to come in. And that’s exactly what led to the problem we’re witnessing now.”
