Zanzibar will be the center of African music on February 26th and will host the continent's most prestigious music awards ceremony. This incredible event celebrates the rich diversity of music from Africa and its diaspora, attracting top talent from around the world.
The incredible lineup of artists will adorn the stage with many other well-known musicians, including icons such as Lema, Diamond Platnam, Yemiared, Fari Ipupa, Joshu Abaraka, Chitom & Yuppe. Tickets are currently available through the Senjaro app.
The Trace 2025 awards showcase artists from over 30 countries in Africa, South America, the Caribbean, Indian Ocean and Europe. Competing in 24 categories, the awards range from Afrobeat, dancehall, hip hop to Afropop, Mabarak, Amapiano, Zouk, Kizomba, Jenge, Coupe-dekare, Bongoflava, souk, gospel and rap . , Raï, Kompa, RNB, and Rumba.
Tanzania is strongly represented by Diamond Platnams, Alikiba, Zuchu, Mario, Nandi, Abigail Chams and Young Ruña. The Ivory Coast features stars like Diddy B, Georgie, Tamsil, KS Bloom, Team Piya and Himara. DRC shines with Fally Ipupa, Innoss’b and Gaz Mawete, while Nigeria boasts King Promise, Qing Maddy, producer P Priime, and the famous Lema and Yemiarade.
Bien from Kenya will take the stage alongside Wally Sek of Senegal. South Africa is represented by Makazi and duo Titom & Yappe. The diverse lineup includes Sabrina (Cameroon), DJ Morgreen (Algeria), Chelsea Dinoras (Angola), Joed Wet Fili (France/Haiti), Nesley (Martinique/Guiana, France), Bath (Lenion Island), and Kenny Haiti (including Haiti (Haiti)), and Joshua Baraka (Uganda).
The main Afrobeat band, Composers, will serve as the house band, with famous choreographer Shelley Silver taking charge of the electrified choreography. Known for her work in Childish Gambino’s “This Is America” video, Silver brings her extraordinary talent to the 2025 Trace Awards, promising an unforgettable evening of music, emotion and epic performances.
