The governor added that some affected members are considering forming or joining smaller political parties as an alternative for the 2027 elections.

Governor Mohammed acknowledged that the main challenge for the PDP is leadership, accusing it of acting as a “black sheep” in favor of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Despite the challenges, Mohammed expressed optimism that continued reconciliation efforts will rejuvenate the party.
“Nigerians are waiting for us to put our house in order and present reliable and competent individuals for elections in the next cycle. It may affect your chances of winning the election,” he said.
The governor called on aggrieved members to give the reconciliation process a chance and promised that a stronger and more unified PDP would soon emerge.
Highlighting the role of the PDP as the main opposition party in Nigeria, Mohammed stressed the importance of maintaining its strength to ensure a vibrant democracy.
“We cannot silence the power of the opposition party in Nigeria because the PDP is the main opposition party in Nigeria for now and we cannot afford to let it die. It may threaten our democracy. No,” he concluded.
