National Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Ajuji Ahmed, has blamed the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the crisis in some opposition parties in the country.
Naija News reports that Ajuji disclosed this at a flag-raising campaign for the party’s Ondo State governorship candidate, Olugbenga Edema, in Akure on Thursday.
The NNPP leader said there is evidence that the APC is interfering in the internal affairs of the opposition party by causing division among party members, weakening the party structure and remaining in power beyond 2027.
He declared that the ruling APC should be ready to hand over power after the administration of President Bola Tinubu, stressing that the NNPP is working with and forming alliances with other opposition parties ahead of the 2027 polls.
Mr. Ajuji added that the NNPP was ready to occupy Ondo and implored the people to mobilize troops en masse and vote for Edema in the next elections.
He said, “APC is doing its best to win the 2027 general election. Indeed, there are signs everywhere that it is interfering with the other party.
“However, it is up to other political parties to maintain their integrity and ensure that they remain a viable opposition to the APC before and after the 2027 elections.
“So if all parties decide to go into the election in a coalition, we are ready and the door is open.”
