Although he emphasized that he was satisfied with the current situation before becoming governor, he was accused of financial misappropriation without specifying specific areas.

Rabiu observed that the same El-Rufai “arranged” a petition against former Kaduna State governor, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, after which Makarfi’s administration was investigated.
