The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on its members and supporters to remain vigilant against desperate moves by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its gubernatorial candidate in the last election, Asue Ighodalo.
The ruling APC disclosed this on Friday in a statement to Naija News signed by its state chairman, Jarrett Tenebe.
He warned against attempts by the PDP and Ighodaro to manipulate the ongoing gubernatorial election petition tribunal.
His statement is as follows: “As the APC Chairman of Edo State, I am deeply concerned about the ongoing governor’s court case, which has serious implications for the democratic process, the rule of law and the rights of the people.
“We urge all party members and members of the public to remain vigilant and closely monitor developments in this incident. must not manipulate the process.
“After their attempt on Wednesday to use thugs to disrupt court proceedings, we cannot again trust them not to do more. We must remain vigilant. It won’t.
“We call on the judiciary to act with impartiality and impartiality, ensuring that all parties involved are treated fairly, and that all parties involved in a case are treated with respect and dignity. We urge you to refrain from any actions that may undermine the judicial process.”
Tenebe said the APC will continue to closely monitor the case in court and take all necessary steps to ensure that the rights and interests of the party and its candidate, Governor Monday Okpeboro, are protected.
