The People’s Democratic Governor Forum (PDP-GF) has expanded its celebration to Osun Governor Ademora Adeleke and residents of Osun on the smooth and successful conduct of the local government council election held on Saturday.
In a statement released by Dr. Emmanuel Agbo, director of the Forum, the group led by Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed praised the PDP for securing a decisive victory in the poll.
Gov. Mohammed said: “This is a natural victory after a fierce battle contest, both in the uncontroversial impact of Governor Adereke, PDP, democracy and the uncontroversial impact of good governance in public services.”
He encouraged Governor Adeleke to ensure that the newly elected local government chairs and councillors adopt a comprehensive approach to governance and promote peace and unity across Osun state.
“Election officials must be generous in victory and promote a culture of tolerance and further strengthen the peace they already enjoy in the state,” he added.
The forum recognized the “huge change project” launched by Adereke's administration and highlighted his efforts in grassroots development, youth empowerment, and women’s inclusion in governance.
“After examining Governor Adereke’s numerous capacity building and empowerment initiatives, he leads newly elected local government officials to provide all the opportunities to provide democratic life-changing dividends to residents of OSUN. I’m sure it will maximize the value,” the forum added.
The forum, which describes the election results as “a referendum on Adeleke’s leadership and acceptability in Osun Province,” emphasized the PDP’s commitment to equity and democratic processes.
The statement also praised the Osun State Independent Election Commission (OSIEC) for overseeing free and fair elections and ensuring transparency and credibility.
Expressing gratitude to the residents of Osun, the forum concluded: Again, the Osun people reaffirmed their trust in the PDP as a people-centered party.
“It is clear that people’s voices are respected because the practice’s conclusions were successful.
“We are grateful that the indigenous peoples and residents of Osun have achieved their fate by overwhelmingly supporting our great party, PDP. This is action. It’s a democracy within.”
