All Progressives Congress (APC) leader Jestega Onokpasha has called on President Bola Tinubu to cancel the appointment of 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar’s former campaign manager Daniel Bwala. .
Naija News reports that Daniel Bwala, who was recently appointed as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, was reappointed as Special Adviser on Policy and Communication on Monday night.
In an interview with Arise TV, Onokpasha said that while some of Tinubu’s supporters claim Bwala’s appointment was a strategy, he considers it “stupid”.
He said Bwala’s appointment was a blow, noting that if Tinubu did not revoke his appointment, it would lead to his defeat in the 2027 presidential election.
He said: “The way President Bola Tinubu stabbed his supporters in the back is completely ridiculous, a senseless and inexplicable appointment. I am a supporter of Tinubu and I am not one to sycophant him. ‘s apologists are calling his appointment a bwala strategy, but I think that’s foolish.
“We won this election by the lowest margin since 1999. Every other president has won with more than 50 percent of the vote, and we won with less than 40 percent. Why not call him, Bwala is a lawyer. He called Tinubu a drug lord. How would a president appoint someone like that now? Not that I’m interested in taking reservations.
“All I care about is the insults from Bwala. Tinubu seems to take us for granted and doesn’t feed us. I went to Tinubu’s house to look for something. I’ve never been to one. Not everyone does. I love the president like family, so it really hurt that he thinks he can act any way he wants, he can just stab us in the back. I don’t trust him anymore.
Bwala will help Atiku Abubakar fail in 2023 and help Tinubu fail in 2027. The president has the right to hire whoever he wants, and we have the right to appoint the president. Tinubu must cancel the appointment of Daniel Bwala. He must respect us in APC. “
