The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Chief Tony Okocha as its new chairman.

In his inaugural address, the newly elected opposition leader claimed that the APC aims to take control of the state government by 2027.
Okocha also expressed that his election dispels the notion that the APC lacks unity and cannot conduct peaceful elections.
He commended President Bola Tinubu for his significant achievements during his tenure, especially the resumption of oil production at the Port Harcourt refinery, and affirmed the party’s determination to succeed in the future Rivers State elections.
