Tyra brought the holidays early for the Tigers (fans) by providing the official music video for her latest song, “Shake Ah.”
The track is one of three new songs added to the deluxe edition of her debut album TYLA, which features South African star Tony Duardo, EZ Maestro and Optimist.
The breezy, colorful music video is set on the lively streets of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where Tyra shines as the star of a fun dance party with her friend and collaborator Optimist. “Shake Ah” follows the release of the video for her hit song “Push 2 Start,” which has already reached 11 million views on YouTube.
2024 was a big year for Tyra, to say the least. From winning a Grammy Award for ‘Best African Music Performance’ to achieving historic chart success. For example, her hit single “Water” made history by staying at number one on the Billboard US Afrobeat Songs chart for a year. Tyra also wowed fans with outstanding performances at events such as the MTV EMAs and the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, and was nominated for eight 2024 Billboard Music Awards.
Throughout the year, Tyra has been recognized at top award shows such as the BET Awards, MTV VMAs, and the South African Music Awards, highlighting her global influence.
To close out the year, Tyra will be performing some exciting shows in her home country of South Africa. These include performances with COKE STUDIO in Johannesburg on December 4th, Cape Town on December 5th and Pretoria on December 7th.
Looking ahead to 2025, Tyra is set to perform at the iconic Coachella music festival. She also collaborated with Stanley to release her own limited edition Tyra Tiger Quencher Cup.
